Chronology of cameras Boucher
This mahogany camera is very classical. It bears the plate of P. Boucher, whose address, 39 Quai des Grands Augustins, indicates that it dates between 1898 and 1901, and that during this time, Paul was a trader and not yet a constructor.
The assembly is with straight tenons, which, for the time, indicates that it comes from a "modern" factory, undoubtedly the Soulé establishments.
It is designed for stereoscopy, with small notches for internal separation, and in monoscopic mode, it allows for a very large horizontal shift. For this purpose, the lens board is very wide and must be well centered when closing the case, to avoid the risk of tearing off the locking legs, which has evidently happened several times.
